A foodie birthday weekend at OXO tower brasserie Clos Maggiore.

What better way to start the blog?

It's been a lovely sunny weekend with 2 separate birthday occasions at the beautiful OXO tower brasserie restaurant and Clos Magiore. Sitting on the OXO terrace high up above London looking over the River Thames is something you really have to experience.

Imagine a glass of wine/cocktail in your hand with the wind and sun caressing your hair..

Happy birthday M

                                 Terrace

Sumptous spring chicken dish, moist and delightful.
This Creme brulee with blueberries and shortbread was a very moorish dessert.

All in all, this is a good restaurant with spectacular views. The prices are quite high, however it's to be expected in such a prime location.

Clos Maggiore

The second restaurant i had the pleasure of visiting for birthday number 2 was the very impressive Clos Maggiore. Ranked 47th out of over 17,000 london restaurants on Trip advisor, this restaurant does deserve its title as one of the most romantic places to dine in london. If you can get a table in the beautiful conservatory, you definitely won't be disappointed.
A few minutes walk form Covent Garden station.

Roasted Iberico Pork Loin & Confit Pork Cheek

‘Petit Pois à la Française’, Alsace Bacon Sauce

The pork simply melted in my mouth and the bacon sauce was exquisite. I cant fault this dish at all. Top marks to the chef.

Truffle mashed potatoes
This side order deserves 5 stars. it's definitely the best marsh have ever had. soft and creamy texture with a delicate taste of truffle that lingers in the mouth.

Orchard Fruit & Sweet Wine Parfait Glacé

Poached Peach & Apricot Vinegar
This was an amazing dessert, filled with different textures. I especially liked the gold leaf detailing. This restraint definitely get top marks for presentation.
Happy Birthday V

Praline ‘Paris Brest’ & Toasted Salted Hazelnuts
Piémontais Hazelnut Ice Cream

I ate half of this dessert even though it wasn't mine.  The restaurant added a nice touch with the happy birthday message and a candle

I had a very good time at this restaurant. I will definitely go back for the exciting looking tasting menu. I feel I need to do this restaurant more justice by covering a few more dishes. I see it as my duty to mankind and my waist band of course.

See you soon :)
